Description: The Deseronto Public School was built in 1956 to replace an older building dating back to 1870. The student body from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 is from the local community.  The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in the fall of 2007.
A large playground with abundant equipment, a gymnasium complete with phantom sound, a computer lab and a library help the school to support success and continuous improvement for all students. The School Council funding support for the school library and a community partnership with the public library ensures the availability of resources and provides positive support for the students of Deseronto Public School.

First Nations Technical Institute
Description: First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI), an Indigenous owned and controlled post-secondary institute, was created in 1985 through innovative and dynamic partnerships between the Tyendinaga Mohawk Council, FNTI Board of Directors, Indian & Northern Affairs Canada, and the Ontario Ministry of Education & Training, to provide access to post-secondary programs for Aboriginal people.  Currently there are some 300 post-secondary students and adult learners from across the country enrolled in capacity building programs at FNTI, and over FNTI’s history there have been over 2000 successful graduates from a variety of certificate, diploma and degree programs.
