______________Deseronto Storm Junior “A” Hockey Club

Deseronto Storm

The Deseronto Storm is owned by the Town of Deseronto-a town that takes great pride in our Hockey team as a community based organization.  The Storm is part of the Greater Metro Junior “A” Hockey League in Ontario, Canada which is currently made up of 13 teams, and anticipated to expand in future years.  Our team and league are dedicated to player development and promotion; key factors in getting players to the next level whether this is the educational or athletic route.

Storm players have four on-ice practices and two games per week; home games are played at the Deseronto Community Centre.  Last season the Storm was highly competitive (winning the Russell Cup Championship Playoffs) and expects a number of returnees this season.  The Storm consists of a variety of local and non-local players.  As a non-local player in our community you will be set up with a family based atmosphere which will consist of a billet if needed (pre-approved by team representative).  We will assist players in taking a strong step forward in their hockey career, while insisting they maintain a strong focus on academics.

So bring the whole family to the Deseronto Storm games where you’ll see fantastic hockey played by potential stars of the NHL.  The 2010-2011 season kicks off at the Deseronto Community Centre this September!

Tickets/Season Passes and team merchandise can be purchased at all Storm home games.  The canteen is open during all Storm home games.  For additional team information including tickets, game schedules, player bios, team/player standings, photos and more visit the Storm’s web site (see below for site link).

Volunteers & Billets Needed:

The Storm is looking for volunteers to assist with team fundraising and promotion activities.  The team is also looking for billets to accommodate our out of town players; all billets will receive $300/player each month compensation for expenses.  If you are interested in volunteering for this great program and/or providing player accommodations please contact Mayor Norm Clark at 613-396-2757 or the Town Hall at 613-396-2440 or deseronto@on.aibn.com.
