Centennial Park Revitalization Project

Funding Partner Logo

The Deseronto Parks & Recreation Department is looking for community members to join the recently established a “Centennial Park Fundraising Committee”.  Our mission is to create a park and play space for all people of this community to explore and enjoy, one that enriches the quality of life for our youth, residents and visitors alike, and preserves it for future generations.

We’re on our way, but still have a long way to go to reach our goal of $90,000.  Fundraising goals will be very difficult to achieve without the participation of energetic volunteers to assist with planning & activities, so please join us.  Participation does not require a huge time commitment on your part - join in whenever you have some time to spare and assist with the activities that interest you most!  Or why not organize a fundraising event of your own or with a group of friends.

For more information please contact Andy Conger at 613-396-3432 or email aconger@deseronto.ca or Dana Valentyne at 613-396-2440 or email dvalentyne@deseronto.ca.

Much of Centennial Park’s playground equipment and amenities are suffering from significant deterioration due to age and use.  To ensure the continued safety of park users, Deseronto Council has passed a resolution to remove the playground equipment from the park in the spring of 2013.  Enhancing & sustaining community recreation facilities and programs for youth and other user groups is a key priority of the Recreation Department.  To that end, the department is coordinating a park revitalization project which will address elements including the replacement & upgrade of aging playground facilities, waterfront trail development, shoreline naturalization & accessibility improvements, plantings & landscaping features, and upgrades to pedestrian and boating amenities.
