2012 Waste & Recycle Collection Schedule
Information
Curbside collection of garbage takes place Wednesday of each week. Garbage should be placed by the roadside no later than 7:00am to ensure pick-up. A bag tag must be placed on all garbage bags. Tags should be affixed around the closure portion of garbage bags with the ends joined together, so that both ends of the tag are easily visible. Bag tags can be purchased from the Deseronto Town Hall (331 Main St.) for $2.00 per tag. They can also be purchased from most Deseronto convenience & grocery retailers:

Blue Boxes are available at the Deseronto Town Hall for $10.00 each, or can be purchased from area home/hardware retail stores.

Leaf/Brush Collection
Fall Leaf Clean-Up
The Town of Deseronto holds an annual Fall Leaf Clean-Up day where leaves are collected from all Town of Deseronto residents. Leaves are to be raked to the edge of the Municipal roadway. Do not include branches or tree limbs with the leaves, as they will not be collected. Do not place leaves in boxes or bags.

Spring Leaf/Brush Clean-Up
The Town of Deseronto holds an annual Spring Clean-Up day where residents can drop off their yard waste. Items accepted include: Brush, Burnable Yard Waste, including tree branches. Curbside pick-up of waste is not available.

Community Care Closet
The Little Thrift Store With the Big Heart.
The Community Care Closet is always looking for items such as clean clothing, small knick-knacks, books, puzzles, clean and complete children’s toys and they can be dropped off at Community Care for South Hastings office located at 331 Edmon St. in Deseronto, ON. Also we accept donations of garbage bag tags. Donated items are sold in the volunteer run Community Care Closet Thrift Store located at 293 Main St. (corner of Main St. and St. George St.) in Deseronto. Please keep in mind we are unable to accept large furniture items, computers, televisions or electrical appliances. The store is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00pm. We are always looking for people to help sort items or work in our store. For volunteer opportunities or to make a donation please call Carolyn or Trina.
