Town of Deseronto Updates - June 26, 2020

Town Hall Reopening - The municipal office will be reopening to the public on July 6, 2020.  Protocols have been put in place to maintain physical distancing, please be patient and follow procedures. We can only accommodate 2 patrons in the entrance at a time.

Meetings with specific staff members will be by appointment only, please call ahead.

Billings and Collection - Late payment fees for Water/Sewer and for Property taxes will be waived until July 31st.

Bag Tags— The two free (untagged) bags of garbage per week limit will be ending with the reopening of Town Hall.  Bag tags will be required on all garbage on July 10, 2020.

Deseronto Food Bank- The Food Bank located at 312 Edmon St. will be open July 16 and August 13, 2020.

Deseronto Public Library – Curbside pick-up is underway at the Library. A variety of online programs are available online at http://www.deserontopubliclibrary.ca/ .

Fire Department
– Residents MUST have a burn permit to have a fire. Applications can be found online.  Please complete the form and drop it off or email it with payment to Town Hall. An inspection of your chiminea will then be arranged with the Fire Chief.

Transit
- Please call to book your trip 613.396.4008, during office hours (8:30am to 4:30pm M-F). Deseronto Transit is not booking trips online or through the app portal currently. For updates see deserontotransit.ca

Canada Day Fireworks
- As per the Town’s By-law, the lighting of fireworks is permitted on Canada Day.  With the dry conditions we are cautioning residents to be vigilant about safety should they chose to do so.  Please remember to follow the physical distancing guidelines and maintain small groups of less than 10 people. BE SAFE!
