Additional Stops and Locations on the Transit Route

Since transitioning to the scheduled route transit system on January 9, 2024, the Town of Deseronto and the Town of Greater Napanee municipal staff and transit operators have received valuable feedback on suggested enhancements to the transit system for riders. We have heard your feedback and are implementing changes to meet your requests.

Effective February 20, 2024, there will be additional locations and stops on the transit route to accommodate riders. The following are additions to our service:

CHANGE OR ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS

  1. Change in stop location - Esso 49 stop will now be replaced by 49 Quik Stop (215 Hwy 49)

  2. Additional stop - Napanee Rotary Park/Napanee Library (38 Pearl Street)

  3. Additional stop - Chuck’s Roadhouse (9 Jim Kimmett Blvd.)

Individual tickets and monthly passes are available at the Deseronto Town Hall at 331 Main Street Deseronto, the Town of Greater Napanee Administrative Offices at 99 Advance Avenue or the Strathcona Paper Centre at 16 McPherson Drive in Napanee.

Transit Routes, Schedule and Fare Updating

Transit Routes, Daily Schedule, and Fares Service Update

On January 9, 2024, the Town of Deseronto will transition the Deseronto Transit Service to a weekday scheduled transit route, serving the Belleville to Napanee travel corridor. The Transit service will provide transportation via a 16-18 passenger bus equipped with accessible passenger seating daily from 5:00 am until 7:00 pm. The updated service will connect riders to trips into Belleville, as well as inter-community between Deseronto, Napanee and the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory (TMT), with defined stops throughout.

Deseronto Holiday Hours

The Deseronto Town Hall will close on Friday December 23rd at 4:30 pm and re-open on Monday January 2, 2023 at 8:30 am.

The Deseronto Community Centre will be closed December 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th & 31st, 2022 and January 1st, 2023.

Deseronto Transit will not operate on December 26th and 27th. Transit will operate normal hours on December 28th, 29th, and 30th, but with no dispatch.

Deseronto Transit - Service Adjustments Coming Up!

We wish to thank all our riders who have supported the service during the pandemic period.

As we move through stages to a full reopening of Transit, we wish to advise the public of the following:

We will be moving from “Essential Trips Only” to regular Conventional Public Transit on Monday July 20, 2020.

On Monday July 27, 2020 our new hours of operation are 5am to 5pm Monday - Friday.

Riders must still utilize PPE (mandatory face masks) and distance as much as possible on the transit vehicles.

On Tuesday August 4, 2020, Transit will resume collecting our regular fares.  Fares can be paid by exact change only on the bus, or tickets can be purchased at the Transit Office or Deseronto Town Hall in advance.

We are hoping to have our “On-Demand” transit app running for your convenience of booking a ride autonomously by Tuesday August 4th, 2020.

Deseronto Public Transit – Open May 19th for Essential Trips ONLY

The Town of Deseronto is pleased to announce that Transit will open for Essential Trips beginning Tuesday May 19th. Deseronto Transit will be running a limited schedule for Essential Trips only, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Please note, we are fully accessible!!!)

Bookings can be made for these essentials:

·      Trips for groceries

·      Trips for work

·      Trips for medical purposes

·      Trips for your Banking needs

You can book your transit trip by calling the Transit Office at 613-396-4008 during office hours (8:30am-4:30pm M-F), we will NOT be booking using the online or app portal at this time

COVID 19 Precautions: Transit passengers are expected to follow physical distancing practices while using transit. Please be aware of your proximity to other passengers and the driver.  To stop the spread of Covid-19, If you are sick, please stay home!
