Boot Camp and Yoga Nights at Deseronto Community Center

The Town of Deseronto is pleased to announce that they have partnered with Mandi Wilson of Elite Coach Mandi. Mandi will be hosting indoor Boot Camp on Tuesday nights and Yoga on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm at the Deseronto Community Centre.

No need to pre-register – just bring your mat, water and weights and join in on the fun.

Due to the Town’s sponsorship, there will only be a nominal fee of $3.00 per class

Winter Fun At The Community Centre

The Community Centre is open for another season of winter fun!

  

Free public skating is open Sunday from 2-3 pm and Wednesday from 6-7 pm come out and enjoy 

The Canteen is open to serve refreshments 

The Gym will be returning for modified use – more information to come shortly

New community recreational programming scheduled to start in November – details and schedule to follow shortly

We are also still looking for interested individuals and groups that would be interested in running programming for the community – if you have a talent, pitch your idea and we will see if we can make it work Deseronto!

Looking For Recreational and Cultural Programming

The Town of Deseronto is looking to have some recreation/cultural programming available at the Recreation Centre for eight weeks in October and November 2022 and in the new year February and March 2023.

Any and all activities will be considered so if you have skills that would allow people to get together and have fun please contact Rob at the Town Office (613-396-2440).

Old Furniture, Household Items, Most Appliances, and Residential Construction & Demolition Materials will be accepted

Larger Loads - - Priced Accordingly

MATERIALS NOT ACCEPTED

Leaves & Brush, Household Hazardous Waste, Refrigerators and/or Freezers, Propane Tanks, Air Conditioners, Paint/Paint Cans and Tires

NO CURBSIDE PICK UP

There will be NO curbside pick-up. Participants must make their own arrangements to have the discarded items transported to the Arctic Gardens site.


BBQ AT ARCTIC GARDENS

There will be FREE soft drinks and BBQ hot dogs served at the Arctic Gardens site for residents of Deseronto from 11 :30am - 1 pm on May 28, 2022.

Members of Town Council will be there to greet and serve you!

Free Trial Opening Of The Fitness Centre - Feb 15 to March 20

The Fitness Centre will be hosting a Free Trial Opening from Tuesday, February 15th until Sunday, March 20th. It will be open Tuesday through to Friday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on the weekends when the ice is rented.

There will be 3 people permitted in the Fitness Centre at a time and your one-hour time slots must be pre-booked at the Town Hall. 

The Deseronto Community Centre Re-Opens Jan 31, 2022

The Deseronto Community Centre will be re-opening at 50% capacity for scheduled ice rentals commencing today, Monday, January 31, 2022. 

All patrons over 12 years of age must provide a scannable QRcode and photo ID as proof of vaccination to gain access to the building.

At this time, we would like to poll the public to see what interest there is in re-opening the Fitness Centre.  There would be 3 patrons permitted at a time and your hour time slot would have to be booked in advance.  The Fitness Centre would be open while there are ice rentals. 

Currently, we have ice rentals for Tuesdays through to Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and 3 hours mid-day on Saturday and Sunday.  Please call the Town Hall at 613-396-2440 and let staff know if you are interested in returning to the gym during these time slots.

PROTOCOLS FOR FAMILY CHRISTMAS EVENT

  1. All participants must line up at the main entrance and go through a screening process and provide names and phone numbers for contact tracing purposes. Participants must also verbally answer questions that are posted at the entry. Tracing sheets will be filled out by staff/volunteers.

  2. All participants 12 years of age and over must provide proof of double vaccination with photo ID to gain entrance into the building.

  3. Masks/face covers must be worn at ALL TIMES while in the building, except while skating; although we encourage you to wear a mask while skating as well. Anyone who claims to be exempt from wearing a mask, will be required to wear a face shield.

  4. Participants who fail to wear a mask or face shield, will not be permitted in the Community Centre.

  5. After proceeding through screening, all participants will have hand sanitizer applied to their hands.

  6. Outside food and drinks are not permitted in the Community Centre.

  7. A physical distance of two metres must be observed between families while at the event.
