The Corporation of the Town of Deseronto invites qualified consultants to submit a proposal to:

a.        Perform a Municipal Core Service and Organizational Review (MCSO Review), and

b.        Develop a comprehensive Municipal Strategic Plan.

The successful Respondent must have extensive experience in MCSO Reviews and the development and creation of Municipal Strategic Plans. The successful Respondent will have the ability to creatively conduct all required public, staff, and Council consultation and research and will coordinate and facilitate the Strategic Plan process.

Summer Employment Opportunities - Ontario Public Service

The Summer Employment Opportunities (SEO) provides up to 5,000 students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through supervised summer employment in the Ontario Public Service.

To be eligible to participate in the program, students must be currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution, be at least 15 years old, be living in Ontario during the summer, and be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Positions for the summer of 2021 will be posted on February 25, 2021, with eight different closing dates between March 10 and June 1, 2021. The 2021 employment period for students is from May to September.

To participate, students must apply online at www.ontario.ca/careers.

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, the OPS will be monitoring what program adaptations may be necessary for the summer of 2021.

We continue to remain flexible in our approach. To the extent possible, proposed changes will be communicated prior to the screening and hiring of students.

Town of Deseronto Updates - February 11, 2021.

Town Hall Reopening - The Municipal Office is open to the public effective February 10, 2021.  Protocols are in place to maintain physical distancing, please be patient and follow procedures. We can only accommodate 2 patrons in the entrance at a time.

Meetings with specific staff members are by appointment only, please call ahead. 613-396-2440.

Bag Tags— Bag tags will be required on all garbage effective February 19, 2021.

Deseronto Food Bank- The Food Bank located at 312 Edmon St. will be open on February 18, 2021.

Deseronto Public Library – Curbside pick-up is available at the Library, please call 613-394-2744. A variety of programs can be found online at http://www.deserontopubliclibrary.ca/ . - open webpage.
