Deseronto, ON – [February 13, 2025] – The Town of Deseronto is pleased to announce the promotion of Duncan McIlvaney to the position of Fire Chief for the Deseronto Fire Department. McIlvaney, who has served as the Acting Fire Chief since July 2024, has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the community and his department.

"His leadership has been positively received by his colleagues, particularly during his time as Acting Fire Chief, and we are confident he will continue to guide the Town of Deseronto Fire Department with professionalism, and the utmost integrity."
As Fire Chief, McIlvaney will oversee the strategic direction of the Deseronto Fire Department, ensuring that the community receives the highest level of fire protection and emergency response services. He will also work closely with other municipal departments, neighbouring departments, and emergency services to enhance public safety efforts.
