Fireworks, although permitted on Victoria Day, are only permitted to be lit off while under the supervision of someone from the Fire Dept.

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Deseronto passed By-law No. 27-2023 on the 26th day of April 2023, pursuant to the provisions of Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended.
During Emergency Preparedness Week, May 7-13, consider if your household emergency plan includes your pets.
Making plans that include your pets will ensure that they will be ready to go in the event you have to evacuate quickly.

This year Emergency Preparedness Week is May 7-13, with the theme “A Safe, Practiced, and Prepared Ontario.”
It is good to prepare yourself and your family in the event of an emergency. Having sufficient supplies such as food, water, medicine and emergency essentials is important.
Build an emergency kit to have everything you and your family would need to be safe and take care of yourselves for at least 3 days immediately following an emergency.

BBQ AT ARCTIC GARDENS
There will be FREE soft drinks and BBQ hot dogs served at the Arctic Gardens site for residents of Deseronto from 11:30am – 1:00 pm on May 27, 2023.
Members of Town Council will be there to greet and serve you!
The Public Works Department will be performing a curbside spring clean-up of leaves and brush, starting Monday May 8th , 2023 until Thursday May 11th , 2023.
All material must be placed to the curbside no later than Sunday May 7, 2023, as the Town staff will only be collecting in each area once.
This is for brush and leaves ONLY; no other materials will be picked up.
Please note that this service is intended for general yard waste clean-up only and does not apply to tree removal.
Leaves are to be placed in paper bags only.
Limbs and brush are to be bundled no longer than 5 feet in length and no more than 3 feet high and placed parallel to the curb.
Limbs larger than 6 inches in diameter will NOT be collected. Material that is outside of the general service area will NOT be picked up.
A large item drop off and BBQ will be held on Saturday May 27 th , 2023 (8 am – 2 pm).

New This Year — Free-Cycle
If you do not want to have a yard sale, but want to get rid of some items—put the items out to the street with a “Free” sign on them.
If they are not picked up by 3:00 pm, that day, you must take your items off of the street and dispose of them another way.
The Town will advertise the event in the Napanee Beaver and on our website and Facebook page.
If you would like to have a yard sale/free-cycle event, simply put the items out the day of the event. There is no need to register your sale with the Town Hall.
The Town of Deseronto is currently seeking three (3) summer students to work in various departments throughout the Town.
Students must be 16 years of age or older and have registered to return to school in the fall.
The successful candidates will be involved in a diverse range of job activities within the Administration or Parks & Recreation Departments
Qualifications and Experience required:
Punctual and dependable (both)
Excellent customer service skills (both)
Microsoft Office & various computer applications (Admin)
Experience operating lawn mowers & weed eaters (Parks)
Knowledge of plants/flowers (Parks)
