Public Notice - Hydrant Flushing, Bells Road
Hydrant flushing will occur Monday, January 27, 2025 on Bells Road between the hours of 7am and 4pm. Customers may experience a slight discolouration of water/loss of pressure while we flush in the distribution system, but note that the colour does not compromise the safety of the water as it’s only a buildup of sediment from the pipes. Running the cold tap for a few minutes should clear any colour right up.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Shatterbox Theatre Partnered with the Friends of the Deseronto Public Library Announce Fundraising Staged Reading of Without Rule of Law
Deseronto, ON – January 6th, 2025 – Shatterbox Theatre Company, in collaboration with the Friends of the Deseronto Public Library, is proud to announce a special staged reading of the provocative play Without Rule of Law by Michaela Jefferies on March 1, 2025, at 6:30 PM. The event will take place at the Deseronto Public Library and serve as a unique fundraiser for both organizations, supporting the vibrant arts community and the library’s ongoing educational and cultural programs.
About the Play: Without Rule of Law: “Convinced the world at large can’t be trusted to prioritize the well-being of adolescent girls in the event of a cataclysmic event (or just in general), a determined troupe of preteen “doomers” commit to preparing for survival in the post-collapse society they anticipate inheriting. Part Judy Blume, part Rambo, this darkly comic coming-of-age story for complicated times is for any young woman who has ever been told that she is “too much,” or that what she fears is illegitimate, or that what she has to say is less important than keeping the peace.”
Event Details:
● Date: March 1, 2025
● Time: 6:30 PM show start, doors open at 6:00 PM
● Location: Deseronto Public Library, 358 Main Street, Deseronto, ON
● Admission: $20 - General Admission, $10 Student/Youth. All proceeds will benefit Shatterbox Theatre Company and Friends of the Deseronto Public Library.
A Night for the Community: The re-staged reading will feature the cast of the April 2024 production of WROL; local youth who bring their talents to the gripping narrative of Without Rule of Law. Guests can enjoy an intimate evening of thought-provoking theatre in the welcoming environment of the Deseronto Public Library, followed by a Q&A with members of the team. This fundraiser is a perfect way for local theatre enthusiasts and library supporters to come together to support two essential community organizations.
Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Shatterbox Theatre Company, a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to producing dynamic, inclusive theatre, and Friends of the Deseronto Public Library, which works tirelessly to enhance library services and programming.
